Laura brings a healthful, positive, and fun approach to ballet class that is meant to be rejuvenating, healing, repairing and uplifting. Her objective is that the dancer feels better in body, mind and spirit as time passes, growing and changing toward homeostasis--or excellent health--within dance. She encourages the exploration of energetic patterns in the body and positive thoughts in the mind. The technique of Ballet Bernasconi stems from the basic principle that dance is a moving meditation. Philosophies drawn upon include the Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, Ilan Lev Method, Zena Rommett Floore Barre, Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis, Haha Yoga, sports psychology and martial arts. She focuses on the individual needs of each student with support, empathy, love and mudita - or vicarious joy.
