Ballet Bernasconi

 Mudita Arts for Peace

Ballet Bernasconi, Mudita Arts for Peace – raises awareness and funds for organizations who peacefully promote human and environmental rights.

As an dancer, choreographer, wellness instructor and teacher of ballet, hatha yoga, AcroYoga, massage and Odissi dance….

Laura’s work has been hailed by the SF Gate and Bay Guardian as “dances to watch, striking, fluid, lyrical, joyous, outstanding, clear, finely hued, elegantly stylized, profoundly erotic, incredible, surprising, tonic, lively.”

Laura’s goal is to create choreography that is rejuvenating, healing and repairing as opposed to destructive or injurious.  The objective is that the dancer feel better in body, mind and spirit after rehearsal and performance as if having just had therapeutic healing session. As a result the audience member, too, has a neurological response of peace, equipoise and a sense of homeostasis.

Trained in many forms of movement, Laura has developed a unique movement and choreographic language that incorporates a fusion
that combines classical and contemporary ballet, Odissi East Indian temple dance, AcroYoga, tribal fusion and improvisation. Laura’s classes and creations are offered through empathy, compassion and mudita (vicarious joy) using principles of Yoga, Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, Ilan Lev Method,  Gyrokenisis, Gyrotonic, Tai Chi, Chi Qong, Kundalini and the Chinese acupuncture system.
